The Night Before
Lay out everything: bib, pins, shoes, socks, gels, watch charged. Nothing new on race day — that includes socks.
Warm-Up Timing
For 10K and below, ten to fifteen minutes of easy jogging plus strides finishing five minutes before the gun. For a marathon, keep it short and conserve energy.
Pace The First 5K
Nearly every personal best comes from an even or slightly negative split. Bank patience, not time.
